 Abstract of Paper II

Dr. Archalatha T.C, Final year P.G Scholar, Dept. of Panchakarma, GAVC, TVM

Around 42 million people in India are suffering from  Thyroid diseases and are forced to take medication, throughout their life. From our OPD we came to know that more than 5% of our patients are having thyroid problems, but are presenting mostly Rheumatic/ musculoskeletal complaints.
From this data, it is clear that in spite of the medicines they are taking for Thyroid diseases, their quality of life is highly affected in long run. This recommends the development of an alternative therapy for Thyroid diseases.
Through our way of approach , in Thyroid diseases dushti is at dhatu level and Sodhana therapy is needed in this situation. So we concentrated more on sodhana, a new ray of hope in Thyroid diseases and developed a protocol, which is presented here.
